Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite may be getting an even more powerful upgrade, as recent leaks suggest a version with overclocked performance cores clocked at 4.57GHz, up from the standard 4.32GHz. This advanced variant could outperform Apple’s A18 Pro in single-core benchmarks and secure a strong lead in multi-core performance, making it a contender for the fastest chipset on the market.
According to insider Digital Chat Station, the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to debut in the REDMAGIC 10 Ultra — a new flagship gaming phone with a large 7-inch display. The bigger display size not only offers a more immersive experience but also provides the necessary internal space for a high-performance cooling system, rumored to include a small fan.
This active cooling solution, similar to the one found in the REDMAGIC 9S Pro, will help maintain stable performance by managing the higher temperatures from the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite. While some may see this as excessive, the fan is likely essential to prevent throttling, ensuring that the REDMAGIC 10 Ultra can sustain peak performance without overheating.
With the Snapdragon 8 Elite expected to be more expensive than the Gen 3 version, the REDMAGIC 10 Ultra will likely come with a premium price tag.
