Samsung’s latest foldable release, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, sparked a buying frenzy in South Korea, with the first batch selling out within an impressive 10 minutes.
Initial Sales Delayed by 7 Hours
The Special Edition was initially scheduled to launch on October 25 at 9 AM KST, but sales were unexpectedly delayed by seven hours, finally beginning at 4 PM. Samsung attributed the delay to a production quantity assessment, clarifying that the move was unrelated to any quality concerns.
Record-Breaking Demand
Once available, the device sold out almost immediately, with Samsung confirming that all stock was claimed within 10 minutes. This fast sell-out highlights the exceptional demand for Samsung’s thinnest and lightest foldable, measuring just 10.6mm and weighing 236 grams, marking a 1.5mm reduction in thickness and a 3-gram reduction in weight compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Samsung plans to restock the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition soon, though the exact timing has yet to be announced.
